What Did 2022 Have In Store For Bondline?

As the Coronavirus restrictions have now eased, we’ve seen a positive shift in demand and production this year in the electronics manufacturing industry. The external sales team have been out visiting customers in full force, making March 2022 our best turnover month since moving to our larger premises in 2015. Despite the successes, the manufacturing industry has faced few unprecedented headwinds which has put a huge strain on many businesses particularly across the UK. Throughout 2022, the industry has been impacted by the introduction of the Plastic Packaging Tax, the ongoing impact of COVID-19 and the latest Omicron variant, alongside navigating post-Brexit trade, supply chain issues, inflation in costs of raw material and shipping of freight and labour shortages. Fortunately for Bondline, we have been able to maintain a strong supply chain with very high stock levels of ESD consumables.

Plastic Packaging Tax

With the introduction of the Plastic Packaging Tax from 1st April 2022, it has been Bondline’s priority to ensure we minimise the impact of our operations on the environment. As Bondline’s ESD plastic bags contain over 30% of recycled material, Bondline’s bags are exempt from the Plastic Packaging Tax. Charity Events, New Team Members, New Products and More

This year, Bondline have been able to participate in many events and sponsorships in aid of supporting charities and local clubs in the area. In May, Ed Shone took part in the Packetts Tour de Dales 2022 ‘Break the Cycle’ Charity Bike Ride and helped to raise a collective of around £22,000 which went towards helping deprived children in the Bradford district. In September, Chris Blizzard and Tom Peare also participated in a charity event- the DGH Vallejee 4th Annual Golf Cup in Cirencester. The golf charity event was a huge success, raising a grand total of over £3,000 for disadvantaged children in Mauritius. Furthermore, Bondline sponsored their local cricket club in Cricklade with all proceedings helping to support the club’s junior and senior setup.

Mid-year, we introduced our new team members Carly and Jack to the Bondline team. Carly and Jack have quickly settled well into the team and we look forward to a prosperous year ahead with them. In addition, we had some great achievements this year at Bondline. Mandy celebrates her 1st year with Bondline Electronics after starting her position in the office in 2021 and Darren and Jack have completed their ForkLift training to help improve Bondline’s day-to-day operations.

In December, we have seen the arrival of several new products to our ESD flooring and ESD workwear range; ESD Cardigan Jackets, ESD High Visibility Vests, ESD Sweatshirts and ESD Raised Access Floor Tiles. With the expansion of our clothing range, we can now meet more of our customers’ needs and requirements.

What’s To Come In 2023

Next year, we have many exciting things in store for Bondline including trade shows, new products and launching our new online ESD training course.

In February 2023, Bondline will be exhibiting at the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics trade show after a much anticipated wait due to the Coronavirus restrictions. We look forward to exhibiting again and seeing our customers at the show. In addition, Bondline will also be attending Productronica – the world’s leading trade fair for electronics development and production – later in the year. We hope to see you there!
